Finishing the Granfondo Marco Pantani
Experience: Very experienced & credentialed racer
If you are after the idyllic cycling experience whilst enjoying the best of the Italian culture, then travelling with Punto Tours is the way to go. From the best in food and accommodation to a great choice of fantastic rides and events, Vince was able to put together a package to suit the needs of the cycling enthusiast. I will never forget the sheer beauty of the Italian Alps and Dolomites and the mythical climbs that have become part of Italian cycling folk law. The schedule allowed time to experience the “feel” of each destination, with short transfers to maximize the time on the bike and the opportunity to discover the Italian life.
Accommodation was ideal for the travelling cyclist, offering the best in Italian food with no shortage to meet the demands imposed by the abundance of climbs, great locations and a level of luxury that complimented a fantastic day of riding. The opportunity to participate in some of the best “Gran Fondo’s” Italy has to offer was an added bonus. These were carefully selected to offer alternatives to all levels of road cyclists, take in fantastic locations, and provide an experience that will be remembered forever.
Vince’s fluency in Italian and local knowledge was invaluable in providing support and assistance throughout the journey. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Punto Tours for your Italian cycling experience. The hardest part will be returning home as your heart will still be in Italy!
Conquering the Passo dello Stelvio
Experience: Very experienced rider
I've been on two bike trips to Italy with Puntotours and they were fantastic. Riding the classic climbs of the Stelvio and Gavia were highlights, but it's lots of other experiences like an early morning espresso at the local cafe with the tradies in their overalls, a lathering in mud at the traditional Roman baths at Bagni di Bormio or a few beers at the bar in the village square in the long summer evenings that all add up to a great trip and some treasured memories.
View along Adriatic coast to Riccione
Experience: Started riding 2 years ago
In September 2006 my partner and I embarked on a wonderful "Punto Giro Touristico" of Italy.
A mixed sex group of 12 or so riders enthusiastically ventured through the beautiful Tuscan country side, based in the Medieval village of Montalcino.
On to the ski village of Bormio we ventured, near the Italian/Swiss boarder. We rode up mountains such as The Gavia and Passo dello Stelvio. Next we were off to the costal holiday town of Riccione for more riding, relaxation and world class shopping.
Every detail of our adventure was expertly executed. The Hotels were dedicated bike Hotels with all the comforts of home. The itinerary faultless and attention to detail impeccable.
I could not recommend PuntoTours more highly.

Bob de la Motte
Experience: Novice rider
As a novice rider in 2006 I undertook my very first European cycling adventure with Vince and Puntos. Although I have lived a very active life blessed with good health and many adventurous outdoor pursuits my experiences and memories of this first Italian trip will remain with me forever. The very first ride out of our hotel in Montalcino (Tuscany) descending into the valleys of rural Tuscany was as sensational as my very first scuba dive on the Great Barrier Reef. Every day was an amazing experience with a very personal highlight for all of us being a very cautious and successful (double) ascent of Stelvio. We were a mixed group in terms of ages (25 - 60), gender and cycling ability. It was never an issue and worked like clockwork throughout. Nobody ever got lost or distressed. The food and accommodation matched the quality of the riding. The camaraderie was second to none and this in no small part was due to the highly professional manner in which Vince organised the tour. You could never have a better tour leader and I base this statement on four subsequent international tours I have done since Punto 2006, all great fun but none matched the Punto variety and level of professionalism.
