FULL ITINERARY

DAY ONE SAT 3 AUG | BASSANO WELCOME

We transfer from Venice on the morning of Day One to Bassano del Grappa. An approximately 1.5 hour drive. On arrival, bike set-up followed by a delicious, light Welcome Lunch and Tour Introduction. In the afternoon short ride to get the body moving after travelling. Welcome to the Veneto.
DISTANCE | 35KM | 22MI
ELEVATION | 500M | 1650FT

DAY TWO SUN 4 AUG | BASSANO LOOP TO ASIAGO

Great build-up for the upcoming days. A loop ride to the town of Asiago, famous for the eponymous cheese known and loved throughout Italy. We'll have plenty of opportunity to taste it.
DISTANCE | 75KM | 47MI
ELEVATION | 1300M | 4250FT

DAY THREE MON 5 AUG | BASSANO LOOP TO MONTE GRAPPA

Can only be described as an epic day! And a moving one. We'll ride to the Sanctuary at the top of the Monte Grappa and see the memorial for the thousands of soldiers who fought atop this mountain and sadly lost their lives. Stepping into the underground tunnels that criss cross the summit is to step into history. The Giro d'Italia regularly uses this climb which is similar to climbing the Stelvio even if you don't reach the same elevation. Short ride but challenging.
DISTANCE | 55KM | 34MI
ELEVATION | 1600M | 5250FT

DAY FOUR TUE 6 AUG | BASSANO TO CANAZEI

This is a longer day but we do the first part of it in the vans, and then ride the last 75-80kms as the climbing commences. It's a wonderful route where we ride from the pre-Alps area and arrive in the Dolomites. Spectacular scenery that is awe-inspiring as the first peaks come into view.
DISTANCE | 70KM | 43MI
ELEVATION | 2000M | 6550FT

DAY FIVE WED 7 AUG | CANAZEI LOOP TO FEDAIA

This is a spectacular ride that winds around the Marmolada mountain, the highest in the Dolomites with the glacier visible during the ride. Two big well-known passes, the Passo Fedaia and San Pellegrino. We ride through the impressive Sottaguda gorge and along past the beautiful Lago di Fedaia of 'Italian Job' fame. Chair lift ride for the daring to Marmolada.
DISTANCE | 85KM | 53MI
ELEVATION | 1790M | 5850FT

DAY SIX THU 8 AUG | SELLARONDA

We trace the route of the short course Maratona dles Dolomiti. Four amazingly different passes that showcase the Sella massif.
DISTANCE | 65KM | 40MI
ELEVATION | 1760M | 5750FT

DAY SEVEN FRI 9 AUG | CANAZEI TO CORTINA

Great day in the saddle! We do the reverse of yesterday, up the Passo Pordoi and Campolongo, before heading down through Corvara. Then new territory up the Valparola pass and racing down the Falzarego into Cortina. More or less a rest day!
DISTANCE | 70KM | 43MI
ELEVATION | 1650M | 5400FT

DAY EIGHT SAT 10 AUG | CORTINA LOOP TO TRE CIME

Brilliant ride to the tranquil Lago di Misurina, and then Tre Cime di Lavaredo! The Giro finished a stage up here last year. This is arguably the toughest seven kilometres, and most spectacular panorama of the Dolomites.
DISTANCE | 55KM | 34MI
ELEVATION | 1400M | 4600FT

DAY NINE SUN 11 AUG | DOLOMITES BIKE DAY

We get a taste of the business end of the famous Maratona dles Dolomiti. Our route leaves from Cortina, and climbs the Passo Falzarego, and then downhill to La Villa. From there, choose the 'medio' or 'granfondo' final circuit. Big celebration dinner after this Big day out!
DISTANCE | 85KM | 53MI
ELEVATION | 1950M | 6400FT
Option to ride the Passo Giau instead of Falzarego for the ultimate challenge.
DISTANCE | 95KM | 59MI
ELEVATION | 2700M | 8850FT

DAY TEN MON 12 AUG | GOODBYE

Morning group transfer to Venice.
Time to say farewell, until next time!
