Highlights:
An exciting week around the Emilia Romagna and Umbria regions during the middle week of the Giro D’Italia!  We’ll spend the first few day in the coastal town of Cattolica where we’ll explore Marco Pantani’s home region. Here we’ll enjoy the famous Piadina Romagnola, while watching the Giro on TV at the end of our first two rides. After riding to our next stop, the fascinating town of Gubbio, our first experience of a stage live, will be in Foligno: the Sagrantino Wine Individual Time Trial!  The tour continues onto Bagni di Romagna and the excitement of a mountain stage watching the pros climbing the challenging Monte Fumaiolo.
The last day we’ll have a relaxing ride to Forli to watch the race start and meet some of our pro friends before we finish our ride in our beautiful hotel in Predappio. Here we’ll visit the old wine cellar and celebrate with a great dinner!

Day One - Cattolica Warm-up Ride
Main Route: 30km / 21mi
Total Ascent:  300m / 900ft
Easy first day along the beautiful coastline. We’ll have a little taste of this beautiful cycling region and ride back in time to watch the end of the Giro stage on TV.  Hmmm.... remember the Piadina Romagnola!

Day Two - Cattolica Loop to Cippo Pantani
Main Route: 70km / 48mi

Total Ascent: 700m / 1900ft

Today we ride on a Marco Pantani training route up to a little mountain now called Cippo Pantani. You’ll see memories of Marco everywhere along the road as this was his favourite climb and he used to do it several times during a single training session! On our way back, we’ll stop at the Pantani museum, a little place where you can see many of his personal bikes, jerseys and photos.

Day Three - Cattolica to Gubbio
Main Route: 70km / 48mi
Total Ascent: 850m / 2900ft
Our ride will take us into the artistic Umbria Region.  The ride comprises many “up&downs” and captivating medieval hilltop towns. Our final destination is one of the most beautiful, the town of Gubbio, famous for its Duomo and Piazza. From tomorrow and over the next few days we experience the Giro live!

Day Four - Gubbio Loop to Foligno (Giro Stage: ITT)
Main Route: 75km / 52mi

Total Ascent: 1200m / 3500ft

And here we are, the Giro Show! The ITT is probably the most exciting stage to watch live as you’ll see plenty of action! We’ll ride to Foligno and spend some time at the start watching the Pro's warming up on the turbo trainers. We’ll then ride along the race course to see them climbing at incomprehensible speeds on their TT bikes. Our van will drive us back , so we can also enjoy a glass of the famous Sagrantino wine during the day!

Day Five - Gubbio to Bagni di Romagna (Giro Stage: Finish Line)
Main Route: 75km / 52mi
Total Ascent: 1450m /4200ft
We travel from Gubbio to Bagni di Romagna on a challenging, hilly road before we arrive in town and set up to watch the race loop through town twice.  We get to stay in the one place and watch the stage in comfort!
The Giro stage is going to be really hard and very exciting to watch. On the day, you will have the option to watch the race in town or along the climb, you decide!

Day Six - Bagni di Romagna to Cesenatico (Giro Stage: Start Line)
Main Route: 65km /45mi

Total Ascent: 950m / 3050ft

Another live Giro day for us as we ride to Forli and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere at the start village. We’ll grab some lunch and then ride the last 20km to our beautiful hotel hidden amongst the vineyards in the little town of Predappio. After a tour of the wine cellar and a delicious wine tasting, we’ll celebrate the end of a great cycling adventure with an exceptional dinner!
