An exciting intermediate-advanced tour for cyclists keen to challenge themselves and become better cyclists by training at high altitude on the Teide Volcano, Tenerife!  If you are getting ready for a challenge such as Haute Route, TransAlps or similar hight altitude event this will suit you perfectly.  The week will involve great riding and recovery, exactly the way the Pro's do it!  We will spend four days acclimatising on the coast, before heading inland and staying in the same hotel as many of your favourite champions. You will ride with experienced guides who are racers as well, happy to share their knowledge with you.  Tenerife is a fantastic island with the huge Teide Volcano rising to 2,000m above sea level, offering incredible rides and outdoor activities.  The main activity will be the morning ride, and plenty of time to relax in the afternoon.  Putting it simply, we'll do what the Pro's do and see if it works for us!

Many of the Pro Teams will be there at the same time as us (Cannondale, Astana, Katusha, to name a few) so places on this exclusive tour are strictly limited.  BOOK NOW!

Day One - Garachico Warm-up Ride
Main Route: 50km / 30mi
Total Ascent: 1,000m / 3,300ft
Lovely ride along the coast.  This is a chance to ease out any jet lag and become accustomed to the Atlantic breeze!

Day Two - Garachico Loop to Masca
Main Route: 85km / 53mi
Total Ascent: 1,500m / 4,900ft
What a start!  We ride along the undulating coast and then up to Masca with spectacular views of the ocean all day long.  You'll easily spot the Teide Volcano, soon to become our main training location.

Day Three - Garachico Loop to Puero de la Cruz
Main Route: 115km / 71mk
Total Ascent:  2,000m / 6,500ft
Today we ride in the opposite direction among the foothills of the volcano.  There will be several short, challenging climbs all the way to the picturesque town of Puerto de la Cruz.  The ride back will be easier, along the coast although the wind could be an extra challenge!

Day Four - Garachico to Teide Volcano
Main Route: 75km / 46mi
Total Ascent: 2,200m / 7,200ft
Here we go, let's climb!  A short but testing ride as we'll spend most of the time climbing, without the usual reward of a descent.  The climb is nearly 50km (30mi) long, starting from sea level, and reaching 2,000m.  But it's not that hard at all!  Once on top, we'll have plenty of time to explore the wild area around the still active volcano, and meet of of the Pro's in the very charming hotel.

Day Five - Teide Loop to Arona
Main Route: 125km / 77mi
Total Ascent: 2,800m / 9,100ft
Every time you head out on a ride you descent from the volcano, so you must climb back up!  Today we ride the classic side of the mountain which is also the most spectacular.  Just keep in mind.... 50km climb back to your hotel!

Day Six - Teide Easy Ride or Rest Day
Main Route: 50km / 30mi
Total Ascent: 1,000m / 3,300ft
After 5 days of intense riding we'll take an easy spin, or even a full rest day.  As most of the Pro's do, we'll ride out and back along the scenic road at the summit of the volcano, and then take the cable car up to the peak of the mountain to enjoy one of the best views ever.

Day Seven - Teide Loop to Arafo
Main Route: 160km / 100mi
Total Ascent: 3,600m / 12,000ft
And what else would we do after the rest day.... a big ride!  We'll ride down to Granadilla, then over an undulating course along the coast, before finally climbing the hardest side of the volcano from Arafo.  This route includes some steep sections at the beginning with it easing as we near the end.

Day Eight - Teide Loop to La Orotava
Main Route: 140km / 87mi
Total Ascent: 3,400m / 11,000ft
Another great day in the saddle, again starting with a long descent, this time to the beautiful town of La Orotava.  Then back up the volcano from the longer side - longer means easier!

Day Nine - Teide Loop to Playa San Juan
Main Route: 120km / 75mi
Total Ascent: 2,400m / 7,900ft
Our last ride is not too hard and will allow us some time on the popular beach of San Juan.  After a refreshing swim, we'll have the option to skip the long climb back to the hotel, and our dinner finale!

Day Ten - Goodbye!
