Day One - Radda in Chianti Warm-up Ride
Main Route: 40km – 25mi
Total Ascent: 500m – 1600ft
This is a warm-up ride to ease the legs and body into it.  Some of you may have only recently stepped off a plane, so this ride offers a great way to “tease” out that tiredness.  It will take in some small climbs and offer spectacular views on the surrounding hills. Ready for our first gourmet Tuscan dinner?!

Day Two - Radda in Chianti loop to Gaiole in Chianti
Main Route: 75km – 46mi
Total Ascent: 1000m – 3200ft
Another enchanting ride in the Chianti hills, up and down to Gaiole, famous for being the start of the legendary Eroica Race, where you have to ride a vintage bike on unsealed roads called the “Strade Bianche”.  We’ll visit the bike museum and enjoy the charming village. The final section of today’s ride has another climb on the way back to Radda.

Day Three - Radda in Chianti to Volterra
Main Route: 110km – 73mi
Total Ascent: 1500m – 4900ft
This is a beautiful ride in the heart of the Chianti region. After an initial downhill start, the remaining day’s ride is undulating with only one slightly difficult climb towards Pomaranc.  An easy descent will take us to Volterra, a fantastic medieval town!

Day Four - Volterra to Siena
Main Route: 65km – 40mi
Total Ascent: 900m – 2900ft
We say goodbye to Volterra and hallo to Siena!  The ride is fantastic and the view of Siena in front of us is really breathtaking!  The ride is all up and down with a  couple of longer climbs.  In the afternoon we’ll have plenty of time to visit Siena.

Day Five - Siena rest day & guided tour
Today we take a day off the bike and visit Siena with a local guide, climbing up the Tower which has a great view of the town. In the afternoon, there is an optional trip to the Terme di Rapolano or free time for shopping!

Day Six - Siena to Pienza
Main Route: 75km – 46mi
Total Ascent: 1000m – 3200ft
This is one of our longer days in the saddle, which takes us towards the famous town of Pienza. We’ll cross the arid Crete Senesi area to Asciano. A stop to visit the beautiful Abbey of Monte Oliveto and the medieval town of San Quirico D’orcia before the final hilly section of the ride to Pienza, but this little town will reward you!

Day Seven - Pienza loop to Montepulciano
Main Route: 80km – 49mi
Total Ascent: 1000m – 3200ft
The spectacular scenery of today’s parcours around the val D’orcia accompanies us all the way to Montepulciano, home of one of Italy’s finest wines, the Nobile di Montepulciano.  The climb to Montalcino, will take us to the this spectacular medieval town at the summit.  We return via an undulating course through the Orcia region, stopping at Bagno Vignoni before heading back to Pienza.

Day Eight - Pienza to Saturnia
Main Route: 90km – 59mi
Total Ascent: 1500m – 4900ft
Definitely the most challenging day in the saddle! The ride starts easy, but then we climb up to 1000m, near Monte Amiata, a fantastic mountain of the Appenine Ridge. The views at the top are really memorable as is the descent!
After the big ride, we’ll relax at the Terme in one of the beautiful natural hot pools!

Day Nine - Saturnia loop to Scansano
Main Route: 80km – 50mi
Total Ascent: 1200m – 3900ft
Our last ride will take us to Scansano, home of the famous Morellino di Scansano wine! Some more hills on our way.  You will have learnt by now that Tuscany is never flat, but the final part is all downhill!
Some more time in the pool and then we’ll celebrate with a fantastic dinner and one of the best wines in the world! Well done!
