What a tour!  We start in the sea-side city of Sanremo, famous for the important pro cycling classic, the Milano – Sanremo, as well as the annual Italian song festival!  We then ride along the coast traversing the mountains which divide Liguria and Piedmont.  We’ll visit Genova, Portofino and finally explore the Cinque Terre, a truly spectacular region famous all over the world. Liguria has a lot to offer: great bike rides, tasty food, fresh wines and a colourful history. Enjoy! We’ll have plenty of time after cycling to relax and really enjoy this picturesque region.

Day One - Sanremo Warm-up Ride
Distance: 40km / 25mi
Total Ascent: 400m / 1300ft 
The first day’s ride is an easy one just to the get the legs working after travelling. We’ll ride to Ventimiglia along the Ligurian Sea toward the French border and back to Sanremo, also known as the city of flowers.

Day Two - Sanremo to Finale Ligure
Distance: 75km / 46mi
Total Ascent: 900m / 2900ft
We’ll ride along the coast taking the cycle path which was also used in the 2015 Giro d’Italia team time trial. Then we’ll tackle several short climbs on our way to Finale Ligure, a small town on Italy's register of “Most beautiful Italian villages”.

Day Three - Finale Ligure Loop to Toirano
Distance: 70km / 43mi
Total Ascent: 1400m / 4500ft
One of the most beautiful rides of the tour. Today we’ll ride through the wonderful area surrounding Toirano and enjoy views to the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea throughout the day. We’ll also have some time to taste the fruity olive oil produced in this region!

Day Four - Finale Ligure to Genova
Distance: 95km / 60mi Terrain
Total Ascent: 1600m / 5100ft
The longest ride of the tour with some climbs on the Appenino Ligure in the first part of the day, followed by an easy finish in Genova, the capital of Liguria. Among it’s claims to fame is it’s famous son Cristoforo Colombo, its focaccia and the delicious Pesto Sauce!

Day Five - Genova Rest Day 
Activities: Walk in town and Pesto Tasting Today 
Today we leave the bikes at the hotel and spend the day exploring Genova and discover the hidden beauty of this historical town. We’ll also visit a Pesto Sauce producer and taste some homemade Pasta al Pesto!

Day Six - Genova to Portofino
Distance: 65km / 40mi
Total Ascent: 1000m / 3200ft
We continue riding along the stunning Ligurian Sea to Portofino, another jewel of the Italian Bella Vita! Along the way we’ll encounter a few climbs but we’ll stop to re-energize by getting some Focaccia di Recco, a special focaccia made with the fresh Stracchino cheese!

Day Seven - Portofino Loop to Monti Liguri
Distance: 80km / 50mi
Total Ascent: 1400m / 4400ft  
Today we ride on the mountains north of Portofino, with some challenging but not overly hard climbs. In the afternoon we’ll hike to the spectacular Basillica located on the other side of the peninsula from where there is an optional boat ride back to Portofino.

Day Eight - Portofino to Cinque Terre
Distance: 80km / 50mi
Total Ascent: 1200m / 3900ft
Today we’ll explore one of the most unbelievably picturesque regions of Italy, the Cinque Terre. Riding on the undulating coastal road for the first 40 km, we then climb the small mountains which protect this hidden string of pearls. We’ll have time to really explore the amazing Cinque Terre villages 

Day Nine - Cinque Terre Loop to Vernazza and Riomaggiore
Distance: 70km / 43mi
Total Ascent: 1100m / 3600ft
An incredible ride for our last day, up and down from the coastal villages to the hill tops! We will stop and visit all 5 villages of the Cinque Terre and enjoy a boat ride back to our hotel in time to celebrate with a fresh glass of Vermentino wine!

Day Ten - Arrivederci
