Highlights
We are super excited to be again partnering with the Haute Route organisation as an official Tour Operator for 2017, for their inaugural Mavic Haute Route Rockies event.

The Haute Route cycling events are arguably the toughest cyclo sportives in the world. The Mavic HR Rockies is over 875km (550mi) over 7 days of consecutive riding and 16,000 vertical metres (52,500ft) of climbing on some of Colorado’s best known mountain roads. The level of race organsiation the Haute Route provides is the closest an amateur rider will come to experiencing a Grand Tour stage race.

The field is limited to 500 participants which lends the race a unique atmosphere of competition and camaraderie. It is an extremely well organised event where rider classifications and times are posted, as well as leaders’ jerseys and team prizes awarded on a daily basis. Haute Route offers the ultimate challenge for any rider who takes their riding seriously. HR Rockies is one to definitely have on your bucket list!

PuntoTours enhances this unique challenge with an accommodation and service package even the Pro’s would be happy with. As those of you who have travelled with us before know, we only source the best accommodation for each stage. We will also ensure swift transfers between starts and finishes; a qualified mechanic and regular laundry service for clean riding kit. Additionally, we provide nutritional guidance, supplements and will be present at strategic locations for refueling, and kit drop zones during the race.  We will give you daily route wraps, guidance and ride strategy. You will truly feel like a Pro when we sit down together for an organised dinner and discuss tactics for the following day.

The Punto crew is ready each day to give our “team” the full ProTour service and experience. You’ll find your bike ready each morning, electrolytes, water and food supplements at the ready, and a final race briefing. Our objective is for you to leave all the logistics to us so you can concentrate fully on the day’s ride ahead!

One great advantage of travelling with PuntoTours is your access to experienced racers, director sportifs and support staff. We've had great success in previous years with Andrea Nicosia winning the 2014 HR Pyrenees, and placing 3rd in the 2015 Triple Crown. Punto Team guests, over various HR events, have won in their age group, as Punto teams placing in the top 10, with one of our guests winning the Triple Crown in the 60+ category - that's doing all 3 HR Europe events consecutively! Come with us and we'll help you achieve your best!

You may have a non-riding partner who would love to share this epic experience with you. We would love to have them along as this adds to your enjoyment of the event and can be a load of fun for them. They can watch and feel the emotion of the race close up, ride in our support vehicles through the stunning mountain scenery, or have some time off in some locations for other activities we can recommend. When the number of non-riders reaches 4 or more, we also offer a dedicated Tour Guide and vehicle to the group, so they can discover more of the region the race traverses, enjoying activities such as guided tours through towns, historical sites and museums, hiking, shopping, cooking demonstrations and the like. The Non-Rider Excellence Package is only €2950 (€3,380 after 23 March, 2017).

If you have more than one person or your whole family interested in cheering you on and coming to find out why you do these things(!) please contact us on info@puntotours.com.

Haute Route Mavic Rockies 2017 – Boulder to Colorado Springs

"Carving through the heartland of American cycling, the Mavic Haute Route Rockies 2017 will feature an unforgettable combination of jaw-dropping scenery and breathtaking climbs…. Influenced by Colorado’s rich cycling culture, sections of dirt and gravel road (approx. 15% of the course) will add a new dimension to the Haute Route proposition, but these can still be negotiated on a standard road bike.”
