Day One - St Moritz Warm-up Ride
Main Route: 49km
Total Ascent: 200m
Time: 2 - 3 hours
Lovely flat ride along the lakes of St Moritz.  This is a chance to ease out any jet lag and become accustomed to being at a higher altitude.

Day Two - St Moritz Loop
Main Route: 66km; Long Route: 102km
Total Ascent: 1,200m; Long Route: 2,000m
Time: 4 - 6 hours
The regular loop is from St Mortiz to Berguen from where you catch the red Bernina Express back to St Moritz.  The long loopers ride back to our hotel via the Albula Pass, through Samedan.

Day Three - St Moritz to Bormio
Main Route: 80km; Extra Loop: Bormio 2000 option
Total Ascent: 1,500m
Time: 4 - 5 hours
Today we ride the Bernina Pass to Livigno for lunch and excellent duty-free shopping.  Then onto the historically picturesque town of Bormio, along the way climbing the Passo d'Eira followed by the long descent down the Foscagno Pass.  Great fun! For those with a bit more energy to burn, there is the option for the out and back climb to Bormio 2000.  This a lovely winding climb through pine forest just up to the ski station that sits overlooking the town.

Day Four - Rest Day in Bormio
Optional Ride to Passo Gavia, 50km
Total Ascent: 1,404m
Time: 4 - 5 hours
Nice relaxing day in the beautiful ski-resort of Bormio.  There will be time for enjoying the town, doing a little shopping and enjoying the Roman hotsprings at the Bagni Vecchi.  Depending on the day, there may also be a trip to the WW1 bunkers at Oga.

For those who would like to, there is the optional climb to Passo Gavia. 

Day Five - Bormio to Malles Venosta
Main Route: 55km; Long Route: 75km
Total Ascent: 1,300m
Time: 3 - 4 hours
Pack your passport!  Climbing the Stelvio from the easier Bormio side, to the Umbrail pass and descending Santa Maria, we venture back into Switzerland.  After a short sojourn along Swiss roads, we head back into Italy, arriving at our destination for the day, Malles Venosta.

Day Six - Malles Venosta Loop to Passo dello Stelvio
Main Route: 65km
Total Ascent: 1,800m
Time: 6 hours
The BIG Challenge! This is an out and back ride, riding up the challenging and legendary side of the Passo Stelvio from Prato dello Stelvio.  After a gentle start riding beside a bubbling stream and through alpine pastures, the Stelvio urges you on as you count down the 48 hair-pin bends, enjoying the slight rest at every turn and the truly amazing views.  After a well earned rest at the summit and lots of photos, it's back down those bends, taking your time, to Malles Venosta.

Day Seven - Malles Venosta to Merano
Main Route: 60km
Total Ascent: 500m
Time: 3 - 4 hours
After the Passo dello Stelvio an easy flat ride along beautiful tranquil cycling paths that for the most part, follow the river and take in many small alpine towns.  Lunch will be most likely be at the famous Forst brewery.

Day Eight - Merano Loop
Main Route: 60km
Total Ascent: 1,500m
Time: 4 - 5 hours
Today we work harder at the start, and cruise in at the end.  With the climb to Santa Caterina behind us we set an undulating course until lunch time, followed by a welcome flat stretch back to Merano.

Day Nine - Merano to Bolzano
Main Route: 75km
Total Ascent: 1,700m
Time: 4 - 5 hours
Those legs are so used to climbing, today we take you over the Passo Palade and Passo Mendola, arriving in the beautiful city of Bolzano.

Day Ten - Arrivederci!
