FULL ITINERARY

DAY ONE FRI 19 MAY | WELCOME

Arrive in the lovely town of Varese and settle into your hotel. You may have brought your own bike, or hired one of ours. We'll make sure they're all ready to roll. Warm-up ride in the afternoon to stretch the legs after travelling.
DISTANCE | 40KM | 25MI
ELEVATION | 600M | 2000FT

DAY TWO SAT 20 MAY | SPRINT STAGE

STAGE 14 | SIERRE-CASSANO MAGNAGO 194KM

Morning ride to Lago Maggiore, with a ferry crossing to take in the view. Then on to Arona where the Giro passes through later in the day. We'll trace the stage route from there to Cassano-Magnago, and be ready for the sprinters dash to the line for the Stage win.
DISTANCE | 95KM | 59MI
ELEVATION | 1000M | 3300FT

DAY THREE SUN 21 MAY | VARESE TO BERGAMO

STAGE 15 | SEREGNO - BERGAMO 191KM

We have a morning transfer by van to Bergamo. Once there, we'll head out for a loop ride of the larger circuit of the Stage route, obviously the most picturesque but hilly section! Watch the riders tackle the climb in the afternoon, or roll down into Bergamo and see them finish.
DISTANCE | 55KM | 34MI
ELEVATION | 1100M | 3600FT

DAY FOUR MON 22 MAY | REST DAY - NOT!

A rest day for the Pro peloton, but not for us. Just like the Pro's we have a transfer, and we head to Trento. This magnificent town in the foothills leading to the Dolomites makes a great base for the next couple of days. An afternoon loop ride to Levico Terme.
DISTANCE | 65KM | 40MI
ELEVATION | 1600M | 5250FT

DAY FIVE TUE 23 MAY | MONTE BONDONE

STAGE 16 | SABBIO CHIESE - MONTE BONDONE 198KM

Super tough day for the Giro. We do the last climb of the day, Monte Bondone. This is a 22km ascent, with sections in the 15% range. Imagine doing this with 170 odd kilometres already in the legs. Deep appreciation for what the Pro peloton does.
DISTANCE | 60KM | 37MI
ELEVATION | 1650M | 5400FT

DAY SIX WED 24 MAY | TRENTO TO CANAZEI

While the Pro's have a relatively easier day in a downhill ride to Caorle, we have a steady uphill ride to Canazei. We arrive in the majestic Dolomites, a day ahead of the Giro.
DISTANCE | 90KM | 56MI
ELEVATION | 2200M | 7200FT

DAY SEVEN THU 25 MAY | CANAZEI TO CORTINA

Awesome ride over two of the climbs in tomorrow's Stage. Passo Campolongo and Passo Valparola, traditional passes of the famous Maratona dles Dolomiti, and regular inclusions in the Giro. Cycling the Dolomites is spectacular! Maybe the Pro's even take a moment to admire the scenery.
DISTANCE | 70KM | 43MI
ELEVATION | 1900M | 6200FT

DAY EIGHT FRI 26 MAY | TRE CIME!

STAGE 19 | LONGARONE - TRE CIME 182KM

Another of the toughest Giro stages this year. While the tour peloton eat up the metres over the Campolongo, Valparola and Giau, we'll head to Tre Cime and find a great spot to watch the Pro's on a mountaintop finish. Tre Cime is a mere 7.5km long - how hard can it be? Be warned - this is the penultimate stage of the Giro after all! Celebratory dinner to cap a fantastic week of cycling.
DISTANCE | 55KM | 34MI
ELEVATION | 1500M | 4900FT

DAY NINE SAT 27 MAY | GOODBYE

Time to say farewell. Morning transfer to Venice airport.
Until next time!

WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED

WHAT KIND OF CYCLISTS TAKE YOUR TOURS?

There is no mold! We have had cyclists from 18-72 years of age, some choosing easy, others choosing extremely challenging tours. We firmly believe we have something for almost all cycling abilities. Use our Difficulty Rating to help you select a tour that suits what you want.  We're happy to talk it over with you if you're unsure.

HOW MUCH RIDING DO I HAVE TO DO?

As much or as little as you want. It’s your holiday.  You determine how much you want to ride. You can, on any day, choose to cut a ride short, miss a climb, only do the downhills, have a rest day or ask for more!  The van is always handy if you choose not to ride, and a guide is always willing to do some extra distance if you wish. You just need to ask.
