The initial deposit is non-refundable. It allows PuntoTours to reserve your hotel rooms, guides and third party services provided in the tour.
The full balance of the tour cost is due no less than 60 days prior to the start date of the tour. If you do not pay for your tour in full 60 days prior to the start date of the tour, PuntoTours reserves the right to cancel any hotel and other third party services held for you. PuntoTours cannot guarantee a hotel room will subsequently be available in the hotels selected for the tour.
You may pay off your tour fee in instalments (of not less than €1000) up until the final balance is due. This allows you to also take advantage of any positive exchange rates at the time.
If, at the time of booking, there is less than 60 days until the date of tour commencement, full payment is required on booking.
We strongly advise guests to take up comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking that will cover the costs of cancelling your tour, as well as other associated travel arrangements you have made.
After you have booked a tour with PuntoTours, your Member login will allow you to access specific details for the tour as well as useful information for tour preparation. Detailed Route Notes and Hotel Lists may not be available until closer to the tour start date.
Tours with a 'Confirmed Departure' are indicated on our website tour listings. If a trip is low in numbers, we will offer the booked guests the opportunity to pay an additional fee to ensure the tour can proceed or recommend an alternate tour. If this is not acceptable, and the tour must be cancelled, we will make every effort to do so at least 90 days prior to the tour start date. Refer to our Cancellation page for further information.

CHANGES TO THE TOUR
PuntoTour leaders may be required to improvise or make changes to the itinerary due to circumstances beyond our control. Such decisions will be based on tour knowledge and experience, and are made in good faith for the benefit of the group as a whole.
FLEXIBLE TOUR DATES
We understand that life can get in the way of taking a holiday. We are more than happy to be flexible with tour dates if your schedule means you would like to join a tour later or leave early. Just send us an email so we can let you know the best location to join or leave the tour. We do provide a discounted tour fee for shortened tours, which will depend on the tour location and group size.
THE GROUP
To provide you with an exceptional cycling holiday experience, PuntoTours takes small groups on tour, usually 8-12 people. Our small numbers mean you receive highly personalised, expert service and are warmly welcomed by those who look after us while on tour.
Event or Custom tours may have larger groups, due to the nature of the event, or wishes of the custom group.
PELOTON On each day's ride you will be accompanied by at least one guide on a bike, Garmin GPS route navigation and e-point-to-point directions. You can ride at your own pace, confidently knowing exactly where you are. The guides will advise of re-group points along the route and a support vehicle accompanies the group all the way, offering refreshments, carrying extra kit and providing assistance where required. For small groups (usually four or less) or on transfer days, your guide(s) may not be riding, but in the support vehicle.
NON-RIDERS Non-riders are most welcome. Travel is all the more fun when shared with a friend or loved one. We tend to stay in each location at least two nights so that even on tours not as suited to non-riders, they can explore to their heart's content or follow the peloton in the support vehicle. On tours where the itinerary may not lend itself to non-rider specific activities, a non-rider discount may apply.
CHILDREN Generally we do not take children under the age of 12. In any case, children must be accompanied by their parent or guardian at all times, and responsibility always rests with the parent or guardian. If you'd like to bring younger children we encourage you to discuss a Custom Tour with us.
ACCOMMODATION
PuntoTours carefully selects only those hotels that can provide the right combination of comfort, quality, diversity and hospitality. Hotels will usually have a four star rating. If we have chosen an hotel of a lesser rating then this is because the rating does not truly reflect the standard or the hotel's location and charm more than compensate for the rating. This will be the case in locations where accommodation is limited, in which case the best lodging available will be provided. Tour fees shown are for accommodation in a twin room with private bathroom.
If you are travelling alone, we will assign you a roommate of the same gender. There is no extra charge if we are unable to find you a roommate. If you are travelling as a couple, please indicate this on booking, so can ensure you have a double-bed. If you would like your own room, there is a single supplement charge applicable to the tour.
MEALS
Generally all breakfasts, lunches and dinners are included. Longer tours may allow for a free evening so guests can please themselves. Food is an important part of European life. Our guides' knowledge of the local area and cuisine will mean dinner may not necessarily be at the hotel. Each town has its exceptional restaurants we love to share with our guests, and that provide the most delicious of regional cooking for you to experience.
The PuntoTours guides have an excellent knowledge of the premium regional wines and will be able to guide you through choosing from the superb varieties available while on tour. Soft drinks and alcoholic beverages with lunch and dinner is an additional charge. Guests may choose to contribute to a Drinks Kitty. The amount will depend on the length of the tour, wine prices of the region and how much is imbibed!
If you choose not to join the Drinks Kitty you can buy your own drinks each night. You will be responsible for keeping track of the bill and should be prepared to pay in cash each night for the beverages you drink.
During each day's ride we provide, depending on the region and availability, fresh fruit, sweet and salted snacks, food supplements and isotonic powders or tablets and of course, water. If you have specific needs, please let us know in advance, and we will advise whether we can assist or if you should bring your own.
YOUR OBLIGATIONS
To get the most out of a tour, each tour member should select a tour suitable to their physical and cycling capability and be in good general health to undertake the tour. As a guide, our difficulty rating will assist you to choose, based on your personal riding average weekly distance and average speed. We're happy to talk it over with you if unsure.
If the tour that interests you does not have a compatible rating, think about a custom tour with like-minded friends so you can ride at your pace.
Remember, you are on holiday! You can choose not to ride every day, take a spell in the van or request an extra loop when you've energy to burn. We are here for you, just let us know how you're feeling.
You must notify us of any medical issue that may impact your cycling, or be of concern in an emergency. To the extent that PuntoTours can provide such information to relevant persons in the event of an emergency PuntoTours will not assume responsibility or liability for any outcome.
PuntoTours reserves the right to not permit you to ride should you be in a state that may impact the safety of yourself and/or others.

BIKES
BRINGING YOUR OWN BIKE For some, there's nothing better than doing a tour on your own bicycle. Please make sure your bike has been recently professionally serviced and has the appropriate gearing for the tour. It is your responsibility to ensure your bike is safe and roadworthy. PuntoTours will not assume responsibility or liability for any damage or injury caused as a result of a failure of your bike or its operation.
If transporting your bike in a bike case, there may be a service charge to transfer the case from the start to finish hotels. Transport of bike cases for guests who wish to leave mid-tour, will be at an additional fee.
BIKE RENTAL If you'd rather travel without a bike, we can arrange one of our high-end hire bikes for you, subject to availability. The hire cost varies between tours. Bikes are fully serviced and set up with gearing suitable for the locations in which we tour. By completing our BikeFit form, we will set up the bike as closely as possible to your requirements.
NOTE that due to integrated head sets, set up will only be as close as physically possible. The hire bikes are of European delivery, so the front brake may not be on the side of the handle bars you are used to.
If you nominate to hire a bike when booking your tour, and we do not have one available, your hire bike fee will be refunded in full.

TRANSPORT
ARRIVAL Each tour will start at a designated hotel. It is each guest's responsibility to arrive at the hotel in good time to join the start of the tour, usually around 10:30/11:00am on Day 1. Depending on the start location of the tour, one group transfer may be included from the recommended arrival airport to the start hotel. Refer to your tour details and the Getting There'N Back Again document for details.
We do recommend you arrive at least one day prior to the tour start date, especially if travelling long distances. This allows you more recovery time and a relaxed beginning to your holiday.
DEPARTURE It is each guest's responsibility to arrange their departure from the finish hotel, unless they choose to join the group transfer that may be included in the tour. Where a transfer is not included, it is usual for a number of guests heading to the same airport or railway station to share a shuttle. We will help arrange shared transport for those that want it. Any transfers or shuttles not included in the tour will be at your expense.
We recommend that homeward flights are booked from mid-afternoon onwards.
IN-TOUR During the tour all transport is provided by PuntoTours. PuntoTours minimise transfers so that you have a chance to get to know the smaller towns and villages we stay in.
