Pre & Post Tour
When you book a tour with us, you become a Punto! Your Member Account login will give you access to your tour booking, where you will find additional information to help you prepare for your cycling adventure. You will also find our Pre-Tour Guest Requirements and Bike Fit forms, which help us ensure everything is ready for your arrival. As the tour start day approaches we will provide you with detailed tour information such as hotel lists and route notes. If you have any queries, don't hesitate to send us an email.
Make sure your passport is current, and has at least six months prior to expiry!
We recommend when booking your flights that you arrive at least one day prior to the tour start date. This will give you a little time to get over any jet lag, save you rushing, and generally ensure you arrive in a more relaxed frame of mind ready for your riding holiday!
All our itinerary detail pages give you a recommended arrival and departure airport for a particular tour. There are many airline alternatives; just check which European hubs they fly into and remember to ask what their luggage allowance is, especially if you are bringing your own bike.
We have a strategic alliance with a travel agency who can take the headache out of organising your own travel. Feel free to contact Jodie Land on +61 412 943 209 or email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Jodie is aware of our tour list and will be able to assist you with your arrangements, especially if you are staying on after the tour or planning time in Europe before the tour starts.
Please ensure you have adequate travel insurance to cover the entire period of your holiday. As this is an active holiday, we strongly recommend you take out sufficient cover for baggage, health, travel and accident insurance.
If you are brining your own bike, please check with your insurer and carefully read their Product & Disclosure Statement to verify that they do cover your bike to its market value and for what circumstances. Some insurers have a pre-set maximum payout on bikes, and do not cover you if you are participating in a race event such as a Granfondo.
Remember, PuntoTours accepts no responsibility for any loss, accident or damage to persons or their personal effects, or for any injury or loss sustained before, during or after the tour.
All your hotel accommodation during the tour is booked and covered for you by PuntoTours. Any pre- or post-tour accommodation is at your expense. We are very happy to book pre- or post-tour accommodation at our start and finish hotels where you can take advantage of our rates. Just let us know what your travel plans are in the Pre-Tour Guest Requirements Form (available to download from your Account area after you have booked a tour).
If you are bringing your own bike, please have it professionally serviced before you come on tour. This includes new brake pads, inner tubes and tyres. You will also need to ensure you have the right gearing for the terrain you will be riding in. Remember, Europe may be hillier than the terrain you are used to. If you need advice on what gearing is most suitable, please contact us.
If you are hiring a bike from PuntoTours, we will ask you to complete our Bike Fit Form (available to download from your Account area after you have booked a tour) to ensure that the bike is optimally set up just for you. All you will need to bring are your pedals, shoes and helmet. If you are set on a particular brand, shape and style of saddle, please bring your own along as well.
We endeavour to ensure you are enrolled in a tour which suits your riding style and fitness level by providing difficulty ratings and tour categories. If you have any queries, please don't hesitate to ask!
We are also happy to give you advice on what training you should be undertaking for your biking holiday. We have a number of certified coaches who we can put you in touch with. These coaches are familiar with our tour itineraries and can write you a specific programme. These programmes can be conducted remotely where face-to-face contact is not possible. Again, please let us know if you would like some assistance in this regard.
