The Trench Team love their riding and the good life, with an epic challenge to finish. This year we have created a tour for them that begins in the beautiful Veneto enjoying the exceptional prosecco and wines from around Bassano del Grappa. Then with some grappa under the belt, it's on to the World Heritage Dolomites for the fantastic finale!

FULL ITINERARY

DAY ONE MON 18 JUN | BASSANO WELCOME RIDE

We transfer from Venice on the morning of Day 1 to Bassano del Grappa. An approximately 1.5 hour drive. Good idea to arrive the day before and spend the night in Venice. Intro lunch just after arrival and two great options for the afternoon's welcome to Veneto ride.
35KM | 500M ELEVATION
55KM | 685M ELEVATION

DAY TWO TUE 19 JUN | BASSANO LOOP TO ASIAGO

Great build-up for the upcoming days. A loop ride to the town of Asiago, famous for the eponymous cheese known and loved throughout Italy. We'll have plenty of opportunity to taste it.
75KM | 1300M ELEVATION

DAY THREE WED 20 JUN | BASSANO LOOP TO MONTE GRAPPA

Can only be described as an epic day! And a moving one. We'll ride to the Sanctuary at the top of the Monte Grappa and see the memorial for the thousands of soldiers who fought atop this mountain and sadly lost their lives. We'll have our own, thankfully not life or death, battle climbing this monster. The Giro d'Italia regularly uses this climb which is similar to climbing the Stelvio even if you don't reach the same elevation. Short ride but very challenging.
55KM | 1600M ELEVATION

DAY FOUR THU 21 JUN | BASSANO TO CANAZEI

This is a long day but we do the first part of it in the vans, and then ride the last 75-80kms as the climbing commences. It's a wonderful route where we ride from the pre-Alps area and arrive in the Dolomites. Spectacular scenery and awe-inspiring as the first peaks come into view.
70KM | 2000M ELEVATION

DAY FIVE FRI 22 JUN | CANAZEI LOOP TO FEDAIA

This is a spectacular ride that winds around the Marmolada mountain, the highest in the Dolomites with the glacier visible during the ride. Two big well-known passes, the Passo Fedaia and San Pellegrino, along past the beautiful Lago di Fedaia.
90KM | 2300M ELEVATION

DAY SIX SAT 23 JUN | CANAZEI TO CORTINA

Great ride over iconic passes included in the Giro d'Italia and famous Maratona dles Dolomiti. We transfer to Cortina via Sella, Gardena and Valparola passes.
70KM | 1800M ELEVATION

DAY SEVEN SUN 24 JUN | CORTINA LOOP TO TRE CIME

Brilliant ride to the tranquil Lago di Misurina and then Tre Cime di Lavaredo! This is is arguably the most spectacular panorama in the Dolomites.
55KM | 1400M ELEVATION

DAY EIGHT MON 25 JUN | CORTINA LOOP

This is the prequel before the final day's challenge. We climb Passo Giau from Cortina, then dip down into the valley and ascend the Falzarego before the great descent back into Cortina.
65KM | 1900M ELEVATION

DAY NINE TUE 26 JUN | CORTINA LOOP TO PASSO GIAU

Finale day! We ride part of the Maratona dles Dolomiti - Falzarego/Valparola, Campolongo and Passo Giau from the classic, tougher side before rolling down into Cortina for celebrations!
95KM | 2700M ELEVATION

DAY TEN WED 27 JUN | GOODBYE

Morning group transfer to Venice.
Time to say farewell, until next time!
