FULL ITINERARY

DAY ONE MON 3 AUG | TRANSFER AND WELCOME

Early morning departure for the 6 hour transfer from Slovenia to Bormio. For those arriving only for this tour, a group transfer will depart Malpensa airport at 10:00AM. Settle into our excellent hotel in Bormio, and relax. There will be time for a stroll into town for aperitvo before dinner and our Tour Briefing.

DAY TWO TUE 4 AUG | CANCANO

We'll build up to the biggest one! Today we ride the spectacular climb to the lakes at Cancano. The Towers of Fraele hover above, marking the summit of the climb, but not the end. The full ascent finishes beside the man-made lakes that are usually an amazing colour.
DISTANCE | 30KM | 19MI
ELEVATION | 900M | 2950FT

DAY THREE WED 5 AUG | PASSO DELLO STELVIO

A truly magnificent loop, with the challenge of riding one or all three sides of the Stelvio. Pace yourself up the 'easier' side from Bormio. Then choose to turn left and swoop down the Umbrail pass into Switzerland, or ride a little further to the Stelvio Pass, before returning to Bormio. For those that head to Switzerland, there is a scenic downhill valley run, before the climb from the classic side to the Stelvio begins. Those 48 hairpins are a long time coming, but then the ski station is looming above you before you know it. After lots of photos, descend into Bormio and a well-earned soak in the thermal baths.
DISTANCE | 43KM, 100KM | 27MI, 62MI
ELEVATION | 1600M, 3200M | 5250FT, 10500FT

DAY FOUR THU 6 AUG | LOOP TO MORTIROLO AND GAVIA

Yesterday was super special. Today is epic! The 2019 Queen Stage of the Giro, which even the Pro's had to miss due to bad weather. We've got the best time of year to tackle these two infamous passes. Beautiful downhill to warm-up before we hit the slopes of Passo Mortirolo. No beating about the bush here - it's brutal. Once over the top, great descent to Ponte di Legno before one of the most panoramic ascents in Italy to the lakes at the summit of Passo Gavia. The final descent to Bormio is technical to start, and then fast and fun. Special dinner to celebrate four amazing days on your bike!
DISTANCE | 110KM | 68MI

Time to say farewell, until next time!
