FULL ITINERARY

DAY ONE THU 18 AUG | WELCOME

A morning group airport transfer to our Alpine base in Bormio. On arrival check-in, make yourself comfortable and we'll confirm your bikes are all set-up. Enjoy a light, Welcome Lunch and Tour Introduction, followed by an easy afternoon ride to get the body moving again after travelling. There is a climb, of course, but we'll spin up for the impressive view from the towers on the road to Cancano. Welcome to the Italian Alps!
DISTANCE | 30KM | 19MI
ELEVATION | 800M | 2600FT

DAY TWO FRI 19 AUG | BORMIO LOOP

Fantastic day in the saddle, as we ride the legendary Passo Mortirolo and Gavia. Nowhere to hide. Roll down the valley and up the easier climb to Mortirolo. Then on to Ponte di Legno and the magnificent southern ascent of the Gavia. The treat is the final brilliant descent into Bormio and a soak in the thermal baths! Option to do loop in reverse.
DISTANCE | 110KM | 68MI
ELEVATION | 2750M | 9000FT

DAY THREE SAT 20 AUG | BORMIO TO MERANO

Brilliant day that begins with the ascent from Bormio to the famous Passo dello Stelvio. Time for a photo shoot at the top, before the descent round 48 hairpins, and beside the sparkling stream into Prato allo Stelvio. After that it is still a glorious downward ride, on tranquil cycling paths, that for the most part, follow the river all the way to Merano.
DISTANCE | 99KM | 62M
ELEVATION | 1750M | 5750FT

DAY FOUR SUN 21 AUG | MERANO TO CANAZEI

Today we leave the Alps and enter the Dolomites. Numerous mountains are picturesque, but the Dolomites are something else again. Our gateway to this World Heritage majesty is the beautiful climb to the astonishingly blue, Lago di Carezza.
DISTANCE | 96KM | 60M
ELEVATION | 2400M | 7850FT

DAY FIVE MON 22 AUG | CANAZEI SELLARONDA

We trace the route of the short course Maratona dles Dolomiti. Four amazingly different passes that showcase the Sella massif.
DISTANCE | 65KM | 40MI
ELEVATION | 1760M | 5750FT

DAY SIX TUE 23 AUG | FEDAIA GLACIER LOOP

This is a spectacular ride that winds around the Marmolada mountain, the highest in the Dolomites with the glacier visible during the ride. Two big, well-known passes, the San Pellegrino and Passo Fedaia. We ride along past the picturesque Lago di Fedaia, of 'Italian Job' fame.
DISTANCE | 85KM | 53MI
ELEVATION | 1790M | 5850FT

DAY SEVEN WED 24 AUG | CANAZEI TO CORTINA

Great day in the saddle. We do the reverse of yesterday, up the Passo Pordoi and Campolongo, before heading down through Corvara. Then new territory up the Valparola pass and racing down the Falzarego into Cortina. More or less a rest day!
DISTANCE | 70KM | 43MI
ELEVATION | 1650M | 5400FT

DAY EIGHT THU 25 AUG | CORTINA TO PASSO GIAU

Finale day! We ride the business end of the Maratona dles Dolomiti - Falzarego/Valparola, Campolongo and Passo Giau from the classic, tougher side. If you're really hankering to also emulate the 14th Stage of the 2018 Giro, you can always add in the Muro del Gatto in La Villa, 360M of hell. Once you summit the Giau, it's all downhill into Cortina for celebrations!
DISTANCE | 95KM | 59MI
ELEVATION | 2700M | 8850FT

HOW MUCH RIDING DO I HAVE TO DO?

As much or as little as you want. It’s your holiday.  You determine how much you want to ride. You can, on any day, choose to cut a ride short, miss a climb, only do the downhills, have a rest day or ask for more!  The van is always handy if you choose not to ride, and a guide is always willing to do some extra distance if you wish. You just need to ask.

WHAT KIND OF CYCLISTS TAKE YOUR TOURS?

There is no mold! We have had cyclists from 18-72 years of age, some choosing easy, others choosing extremely challenging tours. We firmly believe we have something for almost all cycling abilities. Use our Difficulty Rating to help you select a tour that suits what you want.  We're happy to talk it over with you if you're unsure.
