FULL ITINERARY

DAY ONE FRI 12 JUL | CORVARA TO CORTINA

It will be fantastic to see you all again! We'll meet you in Corvara after breakfast, collect all your luggage and set out on the ride to Cortina. Who knows how kilometres you'll have in your legs already, so today's ride is a simple one over the Valparola Pass into Cortina.
DISTANCE | 35KM | 22MI
ELEVATION | 800M | 2600FT

DAY TWO SAT 13 JUL | LOOP TO TRE CIME

Brilliant ride to the tranquil Lago di Misurina, renown for its revitalising air. Possibly a combination of altitude, moist air beside the lake and calm waters. You'll be glad of it as we aim skywards up Tre Cime di Lavaredo. The Giro has finished a stage or two up here over the years. It is hard for race organisers to resist for long. This is arguably one of the toughest seven kilometres - the reward - one of the most spectacular panoramic views in the Dolomites.
DISTANCE | 55KM | 34MI
ELEVATION | 1400M | 4600FT

DAY THREE SUN 14 JUL | LOOP TO PASSO GIAU

Serious day's ride! We head out for the business end of the Maratona dles Dolomiti - Falzarego/Valparola, Campolongo and Passo Giau from the classic, tougher side. If you're really hankering to also emulate the 14th Stage of the 2018 Giro, you can always add in the Muro del Gatto in La Villa, 360M of hell. Once you summit the Giau, it's all downhill into Cortina for celebrations!
DISTANCE | 95KM | 59MI
ELEVATION | 2700M | 8850FT

DAY FOUR MON 15 JUL | CORTINA TO HEILIGENBLUT

Longer day with loads of descending, and a couple of solid but steady climbs as we head into Austrian terrain adorned in pristine, velvet green pastures.
DISTANCE | 120KM | 75MI
ELEVATION | 2000M | 6550FT

DAY FIVE TUE 16 JUL | LOOP TO GROSSGLOCKNER!

The fabled Grossglockner out and back, with Edelweisspitze. Eithe rest or we can - should - also include the out and back to Franz-Joselfshohe from where you have a truly awesome view to the biggest glacier in Austria.
DISTANCE | 55KM | 34MI
ELEVATION | 2500M | 8200FT

DAY SIX WED 17 JUL | HEILIGENBLUT TO PRESSEGGERSEE

Typical Austrian bike ride - incredible scenery, good climbing, stunning stop at one of the beautiful lakes in Austria, the Weissensee, and downhill to Pressegger See. Great opportunity to turn the legs over after a few hard days.
DISTANCE | 110KM | 68MI
ELEVATION | 1400M | 4600FT

DAY SEVEN THU 18 JUL | PRESSEGGERSEE TO BOVEC

Fantastic ride traversing the 'tre confini'. Today's route crosses from Austria to Italy via the Tarvisio Pass which meanders beside a river rather than over a mountain - just for a change. But... then we ride over the Italy/Slovenia border before turning for the ascent over the fascinating and very picturesque Vrsic Pass. Technical descent to start with a rocketing finish into Bovec.
DISTANCE | 95KM | 59MI
ELEVATION | 1800M | 5900FT

DAY EIGHT FRI 19 JUL | LOOP TO ITALY

The adventure today starts downhill towards Kobarid, following the icy waters of the Soca River. Turning right in Kobarid near one of Napoleon's bridges, we head west riding over the border into Italy. A scenic route winds through the remote alpine villages of Friuli before turning homeward to Bovec along the Ucja River, a tributary of the Soca.
DISTANCE | 100KM | 62MI
ELEVATION | 2000M | 6550FT

DAY NINE SAT 20 JUL | MANGART!

One of the best for last! A loop ride that begins along our route of yesterday to Uccea. Take the turn north to the Passo di Sella Carnizza along gorgeous, quiet roads. We loop round to Chiusaforte and then to the top of the world, the Mangart via the Predel Pass. One of the highest roads in Slovenia, we'll climb to just over 2000M. Up on the way out, down on the way home. Fast! Truly delicious dinner to celebrate an epic tour!
DISTANCE | 95KM | 59MI
ELEVATION | 2000M | 6550FT

DAY TEN SUN 21 JUL | GOODBYE

Early morning transfer to Venice - we'll get you there around midday, so safe to book departing flights mid-afternoon onwards.
Time to say farewell, until next time!
Ride safe Puntos.

WHAT KIND OF CYCLISTS TAKE YOUR TOURS?

There is no mold! We have had cyclists from 18-72 years of age, some choosing easy, others choosing extremely challenging tours. We firmly believe we have something for almost all cycling abilities. Use our Difficulty Rating to help you select a tour that suits what you want.  We're happy to talk it over with you if you're unsure.

HOW MUCH RIDING DO I HAVE TO DO?

As much or as little as you want. It’s your holiday.  You determine how much you want to ride. You can, on any day, choose to cut a ride short, miss a climb, only do the downhills, have a rest day or ask for more!  The van is always handy if you choose not to ride, and a guide is always willing to do some extra distance if you wish. You just need to ask.
