FULL ITINERARY
DAY ONE SUN 29 SEP | WELCOME
Your tour begins with a half hour morning transfer from Venice to our gorgeous hotel near Treviso. We'll do bike set-up on arrival. A last check for those that have hired one of our fantastic Cipollini bikes or assistance to those who have brought their own, beloved steeds. This will be followed by a light lunch and Tour Briefing. We'll head out for a ride in the afternoon to stretch those legs after travelling, through the 'bike park' of Treviso, the Montello.

DAY TWO MON 30 SEP | PONZANO TO FOLLINA
Beautiful ride today from Ponzano, along the canal bike path at the base of the Montello, before we veer off towards the Veneto hills. As we near Valdobbiadene, the vineyards create a photographer's dream. Charming churches, avenues of trees and small villages are set off by the verdant green rows of vines.

DAY THREE TUE 1 OCT | LOOP TO VITTORIA VENETO
A spectacular ride through the undulating hills and small wineries of the Strada del Prosecco, on our way to Vittoria Veneto. A charming old centre with tree lined streets will make for an excellent coffee stop. A visit to water falls that feed a 17th century water mill on the way home. A thoroughly enjoyable day out!

ELEVATION | 850M | 2800FT
DAY FOUR WED 2 OCT | LOOP TO SAN BALDO
Short morning ride to the intriguing Passo San Baldo. The road over San Baldo was finally made driveable during the First World War, when the pressures of war logistics meant a solution needed to be found. The result is an impressive series of switchbacks, controlled by lights through short tunnels and bridges. If sheep are on the road, expect a wait and enjoy the views. In the afternoon we'll visit a vineyard and learn all about the production of prosecco. And some tasting of course!
DISTANCE | 25KM | 16MI
ELEVATION | 700M | 2300FT
DAY FIVE THU 3 OCT | FOLLINA TO BASSANO DEL GRAPPA
A delightful day in the saddle for our transfer by bike from Follina to Bassano. We head out towards Valdobbiadene, crossing the river Piave into grappa territory! Our route takes a detour into the lovely little village of Asolo, past the Monument to the Fallen in Fonte Alto, and onto our fabulous hotel at the edge of historic Bassano del Grappa. An undulating ride with much to delight the eye.
DISTANCE | 57KM | 35MI
ELEVATION | 700M | 2300FT
DAY SIX FRI 4 OCT | LOOP TO MAROSTICA
Delightfully level ride through farmlands to the south of Bassano. We head to Marostica, most famous for its living chess event and cherries, and then can meander back or include the optional bit of a challenge up to the Altipiano di Asiago. The town of Asiago, famous for the tasty cheese of the same name, is set upon a plateau. Absolutely brilliant descent back to Bassano, with views at every turn.

ELEVATION | 650-1150M | 2100-3800FT
DAY SEVEN SAT 5 OCT | LOOP TO MONTE GRAPPA
Can only be described as a deeply memorable day! We'll ride to the Sanctuary at the top of the Monte Grappa and see the movingly impressive memorial for the thousands of soldiers who fought atop this mountain and sadly lost their lives. The Giro d'Italia regularly sneaks this climb into a longer stage. Lots of switch backs offering great views and a steady gradient for competitive racing. For us this is a short ride but a fitting challenge to wind up a brilliant week in the Veneto.
