We're super delighted to offer an easier version of our very popular Piedmont Perfetto tour, the Piemonte Leggera (Piedmont Light). This tour is a deliciously easy tour taking in sublime highlights of beautiful Piedmont.

Rolling over the sculpted hills of renown Barolo and Barbaresco vineyards, the riding is just enough to work up a healthy appetite for the mouth-watering dishes served in this corner of Italy. Produce is local, fresh and seasonal. Home of Amaretti biscuits, Ferrero Rochers chocolates, ravioli and earthy, fragrant tartufo.

Historically charming villages and towns, complete with the warm, Piemontese welcome.

This promises to be a really fun trip!

Note: Dates to be confirmed.

DAY ONE SAT 2 MAY | WELCOME

We come to north western Italy for another adventure - this time in the beautiful rolling hills of the Piemonte region. There will be a morning group transfer from Turin to Alba and our very comfortable hotel.

DAY TWO SUN 3 MAY | ALBA LOOP

Today we venture into hallowed wine terrain. The vineyards may just be starting to bud with green over the rounded hills where we'll enjoy riding at its best. The day wouldn't be complete without some wine tasting (for the grownups), and our local guide knows these hills and wines blindfolded. "Salute!"
DISTANCE | 50KM | 30MI
ELEVATION | 950M | 3100FT

DAY THREE MON 4 MAY | ALBA TO ACQUI TERME

A transfer day along scenic, undulating roads with the vineyards creating a natural tapestry over the hills. We leave the Langhe region and arrive in Acqui, a spa town of hot sulphur springs. Will you dare to drink these therapeutic waters - hold your nose! Acqui Terme also abounds in Roman remains, including an impressive acquaduct.
DISTANCE | 60KM | 37MI
ELEVATION | 1000M | 3300FT

DAY FOUR TUE 5 MAY | LOOP TO NIZZA MONFERRATO

Fantastic ride that winds through gently undulating countryside. Like any good Italian town, it has its own festival, the Corsa delle Botti, where local wine cellars race their barrels through the streets of Nizza.

DAY SIX THU 7 MAY | GAVI LOOP

A visit for any cyclist to Piedmont would not be complete without a ride to the home town of Fausto Coppi. Ride the roads on which the famous Fausto and his brother forged their cycling skills. We can stop for lunch in Novi Ligure, a town of beautiful palaces and villas. The town was a popular holiday resort for wealthy Genoese families in the 17th and 18th centuries who loved to spend their summer in the Piemontese countryside.

HOW MUCH RIDING DO I HAVE TO DO?

As much or as little as you want. It’s your holiday.  You determine how much you want to ride. You can, on any day, choose to cut a ride short, miss a climb, only do the downhills, have a rest day or ask for more!  The van is always handy if you choose not to ride, and a guide is always willing to do some extra distance if you wish. You just need to ask.
